Torah scroll: pen and ink on vellum
Handles: silver, cast, engraved, and partly gilt; diamonds; emeralds
Torah shield: silver, repoussé, punched, engraved, and gilt
Mantle: silk damask, cords, braided ribbon, gilt thread embroidery, and pearls
Inscribed in Hebrew: on the handles "The teaching of the Lord is perfect, renewing life" (Psalms 19:8-9); on the Torah shield "Shadai"
The Stieglitz Collection was donated to the Museum with the contribution of Erica and Ludwig Jesselson, New York, to American Friends of the Israel Museum
