Esther Scroll in a silver case decorated with depictions from the story of the scroll

Scroll: pen and ink on parchment
Case: silver, repoussé, engraved, punched, and cut
Inscribed in Hebrew: known as "The King's scroll" - columns of the text open with the word "The king... ." The case is inscribed in Hebrew along the depictions from the scroll story: "But Mordecai would not kneel or bow low" (Esther 3:2); "That night, sleep deserted the King" (Esther 6:1); "This is what is done for the man whom the King desires to honour!" (Esther 6:11); "Then Queen Esther... and Mordecai the Jew... wrote with full authority" (Esther 9:29).
