Hebrew inscriptions: on the front of the case, ten verses from the Bible, beginning and ending with the Hebrew letter "nun", that are known as talismans against the "bad" (evil) eye; on the back: "Gedalya Shponarovich" (Szponarowicz); verses 9 and 111 from Psalm 119; and depictions of two major synagogues in Jerusalem, accompanied by abbreviations for their names: "The Beit Ya'akov Great Synagogue" and "The Tif'eret Yisrael Great Synagogue"
