Marek Cecula (Tzatzula), Born 1944 in Kielce, Poland where his family (Motel Kohn) was saved from the Nazis by the Cecula family which gave them their documents with a new surname. Sculptor and industrial designer. Studies: Argentina, sculpture; Bezalel, Jerusalem. Works in ceramic sculpture. 1968 Went to New York City, USA. Won prizes in the US and in Europe. Has his own studios: Cmielow Design Studio, Kielce, Poland, where he runs a program for artists in residence, and Modus Design, New York City, USA, where he opened his own ceramics art gallery "The Contemporary Porcelain Gallery, Brooklyn, New York City, USA. "He seeks to combine functional and decorative art; bridging the gap between design, craft, and sculpture; this has been the defining characteristic of his work." Since 2013 he has been organizing student workshops called "Art Food Project" with the help of his Cmielow Studio, his Modus Design Studio, and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, in order to develop future cooperation between students and the ceramics industry. His work incorporates styles from the postmodernists, Japanese porcelain, Bauhaus and the Soviet avant-garde artists.

Environmental Sculptures
2007 Monument to the Memory of the Destruction of the Kielce Ghetto, Poland, "Menora" (The Menora is tilted, half in a broken sidewalk, and half coming out of the broken sidewalk, and whether it will right itself or fall remains uncertain)
2010 Pakosze District Cemetery,-in a Communal grave for those who perished in the Kielce Pogrom of 1946, "Star of David" (Broken-which depicts the sudden interruption to the lives of those interred in the communal grave), Poland
2011 "Kielce Chronicle", a table laden with hundreds of porcelain fragments on which are printed photos of the city, the ghetto, the pogrom, members of his family and other city residents.
