Max Epstein, Israeli, born in USSR, 1974

Max Epstein was born in Pskov, Russia. He attended a school for music and art. In 1990, he immigrated to Israel. His first medium was ceramic sculpture. In the 2000s, he began to work in animation. He lives in Jerusalem and is a member of Agrippas 12, a collective gallery.

The combination of functionality and fantasy is evident from his earliest work. In his "Coal" series (2013), he creates scultpures and objects that have undergone a process of firing and disintegration.
