Erez Israeli, Israeli, born 1974

Erez Israeli was born in 1974 in Be'er Sheva. In his youth he studied at the Mitzpe Ramon Art School. In the 2000s he studied art at the Midrasha Art School and at Bezalel. He lives and works in Berlin, Germany

Israeli's early work dealt with bereavement and death in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In addition to the images of IDF soldiers, sculptures of Palestinian masked men have appeared in his works, and since 2009-2010, Israeli has been working on the image of the Holocaust in contemporary culture, in addition to dramatic works, many of which employ irony and intertwine images of Judaism, anti-Semitism, and homosexuality.
