Joshua "Jacky" Jackson, Israeli.
Joshua "Jacky" Jackson was born in Jerusalem. He received his training as a graphic artist in the graphics department of Keren Kayemet, the Jewish National Fund. In 1955 he was drafted into the Israeli Defense Forces, where he worked as the graphic editor of the newspaper "Bamahane – Nahal". During the Yom Kippur War he served as a military correspondent for the Israeli Navy. He began his civilian career as a designer for the “Israphone” company. In 1958 he joined the staff of Yedioth Ahronoth. In 1963 he began a weekly cartoon feature in the newspaper called “The Weekly Drawing for Children.” In the early 1980s he was appointed graphic editor of the Yedioth Ahronoth weekly supplement "Shiva Yamim" [Seven Days], and later became editor of the supplements "Shiva Leiloth" [Seven Nights] and "24 Shaot" [24 Hours] as well. He lives and works in Rishon LeZion.
