Uri Nir, and installation and video artist, was born in Tel Aviv in 1976.
Nir's early sculptures and installations presented environments with apocalyptic an atmosphere. A prime example can be found in her work "Yom Kippur Fleet" (2000), in which he created a fleet of ships built from parts of ram horns (Shofar).
During his studies in the United States, Nir engaged in video art. In the exhibit "Particle Accelerator" (2011), for example, he created an array of objects, including a complex lighting system, designed as doors. This system served as the basis for creating the video art presented in the exhibition.
Uri Nir lives and works in Tel Aviv.
