Mark Vcherushanski, Israeli, born in the Soviet Union, 1934-2013

Mark Vcherushanski was born in 1934 in Kiev, the USSR (today the Ukraine). His father was killed serving in the Red Army during WWII. During this period he wandered to Siberia with his mother, who died there. In the late 1940s he began to study art. In 1976 he made Aliyah to Israel. In 1989 he joined a group of artists in the village of Sanur in the Shomron. In 1997 he began to live and work in Modi’in.
